America dropped an atom bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Was it the final military operation of the second world war? Was it the first diplomatic move in the cold war? Did America want to show its strength to Russia and not Japan? Subject experts can provide an answer to this. As non-experts, we know certainly that the blessings of nuclear technology so blatantly abused for the destruction of human endeavor.

When we talk about Little Boy and Fat Man, they represent two different bodies- the visible bodies, felt and touched. They represent two different personalities. The word personality comes from the Latin word persona means a theatrical mask worn by performers to either project different roles or disguise their identities. Behind the persona of Little Boy and Fat Man was hidden the terrible face of atom bomb which created devastation in the two cities of Japan.

Today people across the world are wearing masks to protect themselves from something invisible to the naked eyes. Coronavirus exists on planet earth. It has taken a heavy toll on human lives. The number of people who died due to coronavirus throughout the world is three times higher than the people killed in the nuclear explosion in the two cities of Japan. Atom bomb took much less time to kill the people than the Virus the after-effects of both hold the same potential. Coronavirus turned out deadlier in its intensity than the weapon of mass destruction.

International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons ICAN Executive Director Beatrice Fihn stated It is absurd to be spending $138,700 every single minute on weapons that cause catastrophic human harm rather than spending it to protect the health of their citizens. They are abdicating their duty to protect their people.

Today we have enough nuclear weapons to destroy this planet several times. Dinosaurs wiped out from this planet. They left this planet safe for us. Tomorrow if the whole of humanity wiped out due to some virus-like COVID, what will we leave for our posterity -earth mounted with nuclear weapons
